Learn to train horses, using your own horse. . No matter what your level of expertise, our hands-on training will guide you in the art of Gentle Persuasion, the John Lyons method of horse training that is rooted in the belief that the most effective and enriching ways of instruction lie not in the traditional way of forcing a horse into submission, but rather in a humane, respectful method of conditioned response training and developing a partnership between you and the horse. The first week we cover the concept and theory, which will apply to any horse or discipline of riding. You will learn to work with horses on the ground, getting control of them, Ground tying, and teaching them to be response to the bit. Teach them to give to pressure for better stops, softer response, more control, and working with spooking, kicking, biting, rearing, bucking, running away, and many other problems. You will learn to teach a horse to respond to a helter or just a snaffle bit. . How to walk, trot, and canter under control. Head carriage, collection, control each leg individually. How to have your horse walk in a lead. And how to get him to pick up the correct lead every time. How to do bridle less riding. And all discipline problems. How to be the active partner in the relationship. Trail riding, and how to be safe, and in control. We will go over trail riding, and how to control your horse under all conditions.
Course runs Sept 18th to the 29th. Cost $2,300.00 . Board is included in the fee.
A $300.00 deposit is required to hold a spot.
